When can I get it?
aux is in private testing right now. Join the waitlist and we'll email you the moment the beta opens. It's free during the beta.
Is it actually free?
Yes. The whole overlay and all seven starter pets are free. Worlds are optional: $2.99 each, a fixed price with nothing random, and yours for good on Mac and PC.
Does it work in fullscreen games?
Yes. It floats over fullscreen games, lets your clicks through, and switches to mini mode on its own so it's barely there mid-match.
Is there a Windows version?
Yes, built from scratch to be lighter than a browser tab. It's in testing alongside the Mac one, and Mac and PC friends see each other.
Does it work with Apple Music?
Yes, with no sign-in. aux follows Spotify or Apple Music, whichever you last pressed play in, or stick it to one in Settings.
Is there a Spotify overlay for Mac games?
That's aux. Spotify's own overlay only exists on Windows, through Xbox Game Bar or the Steam overlay. aux runs on macOS 13 or later and floats over any Mac game, with Spotify or Apple Music. More on aux for Mac.
How is it different from the Xbox Game Bar Spotify widget?
Game Bar's widget is a small Spotify remote you open with Win+G, and it only works on Windows with Spotify. aux stays on screen by itself, shrinks to mini mode mid-match, works with Apple Music too, and adds synced lyrics, listening along with friends and visualizers. The full comparison.
Can anti-cheat ban me for it?
aux never touches your game: no injection, no DirectX hooks, nothing loaded into the game. It's a separate window drawn on top, like a chat app's notification. On PC, while the Hub is open over a game, aux briefly watches the mouse so clicks on the Hub don't reach the game; it's off whenever you play.
Why does the Mac ask for permissions?
Once to control your music app (so the buttons work) and once for audio (so the visualizers react). Audio is analyzed live and never recorded.
